Our chapter entitled “Validation Pipeline for Computational Prediction of Genomics Annotations”, written by me and Marco Masseroli, has been published in the Springer Lecture Notes in Bioinformatics (LNBI) book of the Computational Intelligence Methods for Bioinformatics and Biostatistics (CIBB) 2015 conference selected papers.
Our paper “Ontology-Based Prediction and Prioritization of Gene Functional Annotations“, which I wrote with Marco Masseroli, has been published in the leading journal IEEE/ACM Transactions on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (volume 13, issue 2).
This paper is part of a Section on Semantic-Based Approaches for Analysis of Biological Data of this issue of the IEEE/ACM TCBB journal.

A paper that I wrote with Pietro Pinoli and Marco Masseroli from Politecnico di Milano just got published by the pre-eminent scientific journal BMC Bioinformatics. It is entitled “Computational algorithms to predict Gene Ontology annotations” and it’s been selected among the papers presented at the CIBB 2013 conference.
It is contained in the Volume 6 Supplement 6 of BMC Bioinformatics, entitled Selected articles from the 10th International Meeting on Computational Intelligence Methods for Bioinformatics and Biostatistics. Take a look to it!
I just got notified that our paper entitled “Deep Autoencoder Neural Networks for Gene Ontology Annotation Predictions” has been accepted for ACM BCB 2014, the 5th ACM Conference on Bioinformatics, Computational Biology and Health Informatics.
ACM BCB 2014 conference will be held in Newport Beach (Southern California, USA) in late September 2014. See you there!
My PhD thesis entitled “Computational Prediction of Gene Functions through Machine Learning methods and Multiple Validation Procedures” got finally published on PoliTesi web portal, the thesis platform of Politecnico di Milano.
We just got notified of the acceptance of two our scientific papers for presentation and publication at the influential IEEE BIBE 2013, the 13rd IEEE International Conference on Bioinformatics and Bioengineering
One is the article entitled “A Discrete Optimization Approach for SVD Best Truncation Choice based on ROC Curves”, written mainly by me and co-authored by Marco Masseroli, and the other one is entitled “Enhanced Probabilistic Latent Semantic Analysis with Weighting Schemes to Predict Genomic Annotations”, written mainly by Pietro Pinoli and co-authored by me and Marco Masseroli.
The conference will be held in Chania (Crete, Greece, EU) next November.
